What type of sod is best for you? In Georgia, the most common and recommended types of sod are:

 Bermuda Grass (Tifway 419 and TifTuf): People like these because they are high traffic, full sun areas. However, they need a lot of sunlight and will need to be mowed more often. 

Zoysia Grass (Meyer, Zorro, Emerald, Zeon): This grass feels thick and soft, like a carpet. It can handle dry conditions well, so it's great for yards that have shady spots.

Tall Fescue: This is a cool-season grass that stays green throughout the winter, making it a good choice for North Georgia. Just keep in mind that it will need more water during the hot summer months, especially in shady areas.
